Correct Trays

As one of the first providers of SmileTru in Sydney, Dr Hanna is pleased to offer it to patients at Complete Smiles Bella Vista. SmileTru is an exciting new revolution in invisible braces or clear tray systems. Unlike other systems, SmileTru is backed by world renowned Dentists and orthodontist with all treatments reviewed by a specialist prior to commencement. Dr Hanna is one of the few dentists in Sydney offering this revolutionary and ground breaking treatment

How Does it work?

With SmileTru, each tray is individually designed and tailored to you. The trays are designed to be comfortable enough for day to day wear and for long periods of time. The trays provide a gentle force to move the teeth to the desired position. Each tray is worn for 2 weeks and then changed to the next tray in the series. A consistent methodical approach by Dr Hanna, honed by years of experience with clear aligner systems ensures that the forces applied are gentle enough to move teeth without causing damage to the surrounding ligaments or root structures of the teeth. This also helps to reduce any possible discomfort.

The Benefits of SmileTru

As SmileTRU is virtually invisible when worn, adults can have their teeth straightened without anybody else knowing. The positioners are also removable for eating, public speaking or that Friday night date. Clear positioners offer minimal discomfort and impact on your daily routine compared with other Orthodontic treatment.

Are there any Limitations?

As with any form of orthodontic treatment, it’s important to understand that there are limitations to every treatment. A consultation with Dr Hanna will ensure that you are completely aware from the outset what can be achieved and how long each treatment will take.

Whilst clear aligner provide a fantastic alternative to traditional braces, some types of movements cannot be achieved with clear aligners alone. Some of the more difficult cases may require the use of appliances in the early stages to correct TMJ dysfunction or jaw misalignment prior to commencing clear trays. Dr Hanna undertakes a thorough examination of your overall oral condition including not only the teeth themselves, but also the bite, facial structure, surrounding muscles and the TMJ, the joint responsible for jaw movement. This is a key diagnostic step that is often overlooked by other dentists who do not take into account the whole process involved in not only redesigning a smile, but also ensuring it will last in a stable new bite. This will ensure the longevity of the jaw joint and help prevent from causing any damage and reduced function.

The SmileTru Process

The first step to your new smile is a consultation with Dr Hanna to discuss what you’re hoping to achieve with orthodontics. Dr Hanna will undertake a thorough examination of your overall oral condition including not only the teeth themselves, but also the bite, facial structure, surrounding muscles and the TMJ, the joint responsible for jaw movement. In Some advanced cases, a combination of treatments may be required to achieve the perfect smile. Dr Hanna’s unique skill sets will come into play with abilities to offer whitening, porcelain veneers, and any further cosmetic treatments to truly offer a complete smile makeover.

Following this, Dr Hanna will take a complete recording of your facial profile including the bite, facial structure, surrounding muscles and the TMJ, the joint responsible for jaw movement. A series of photographs, dental x-rays and impressions will then be sent off for the creation of your digital smile design. At this point, Dr Hanna will discuss any possible considerations in relation to your jaw joint, known as the TMJ, and what extra treatments may be required. In some cases, the amount of movement required may require the use of plates or splints to release the bite and posture your jaw in a more comfortable position.

A prescription will then be sent and a digital preview of your new smile created Once the digital plan is approved, your aligners are then sent to manufacture.

Congratulations on your new smile, your first set of aligners will be fitted in the practice to ensure their comfort. Dr Hanna will go through all the instructions required to ensure the best possible outcome for your case. The aligners will need to be worn for a minimum of 22 hours per day. Wearing them for less than the required time per day will simply delay treatment and require a longer period of wear. Dr Hanna will then give you several week’s worth of aligners and schedule review appointment’s to ensure your smile is coming along nicely. All that’s left is for you to enjoy the peace of mind knowing your new smile is only a few trays away.
